MS9: Modeling and numerical simulation of thixoforming processes

Objectives: The objective of the symposium is to gather scientists and engineers that are currently working on the development of numerical models dealing with thixoforming. The topics of the sumposium are, for example, but not restricted to:

Constitutive models for thixo materials
Numerical aspects associated to thixoforming
Rheological properties measurement
Design or re-design of a given part to adapt it to the process
Homogeneous temperature heating of the slug before deformation
Optimal forming parameters including ram speed and load profiles, hold time and pressure at the end of the stroke, die temperature, die material as well as handling systems

Bringing semi-solid forming community together with experts in numerical simulation and material forming will allow sharing great experiences in the field of advanced processes modeling.
