MS1: Generalized continua and nonlocal formulations

Objectives: Generalized continuum theories including non-local, gradient and micromorphic approaches, etc., are now mature for applications in metal forming and material processing simulations. Finite deformation formulations are available to cope with localization phenomena for viscoplastic strain and damage. Numerical algorithms are being developed to support these formulations.

The objective of this mini-symposium is to gather contributions illustrating such generalized deformation theories, their associated numerical methods and their applications to the processing, deformation or fracture of engineering components.
